Your Website How-to’s

Below is the code for a placed image.

<div> <!--Replace the fake url between the quote marks below with the the URL of your image.--> <img src="

"></div>

You don’t have to use a Code Block in Squarespace to put up pictures, but if you want to use a vector-based image, the most simple solution is to export your vector-based file from your software (Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, Affinity, etc.) as a .svg filetype. If you have a single-page document that has no photographic images in it, .svg is a more efficient (requiring less data) filetype than the more common .pdf (note that the above code will not work with .pdf files).

You can upload your .svg file using a link in the Pages section of your Squarespace site.

When you see your pages listed on the left side of the window, click on the + symbol just to the right of text that reads “NOT LINKED.”

A dialogue box will appear, offering to make a new page for you.

Click the icon that looks like two chain links at a diagonal angle, titled Link. It will likely be at or near the bottom of that dialogue box.

Once you have followed these instructions, you will be ready to use the instructions in the video above.
